Same for me, couldn't hear anything. Also I can't use my reach keybindings :(

I had to raise the volume setting to 25, had it down at 7 for Reach... 25 is OK for me (headphones).

I don't know if it helps but I had to deactivate Dolby in the speaker properties for the MCC. That normalized the overall volume for me. (Still can barely hear gun sounds in REACH however). Even the main menu was so quiet I had to turn up my stereo speaker volume or headphones to nearly MAX. I also noticed that when quitting the game the volume went up to totally normal for a second before the game quits to desktop.. It was like if the game runs in some kind of background mode and gets quieter which my system always does if there are multiple processes running that use sound (there weren't any.).
Deactivating Dolby Digital Plus has the bad side effect that pretty much all my other games have low volume instead so I do this only when playing the Halo MCC.

Keybindings are separate for each game. Switch it to CE in the options menu

Man, this worked for me, kind of. I had Dolby turned off initially instead. Once I turned it on from my PC settings, BAM, finger blasted in the ear.
