Any idea why the rifles won't stay scoped in while shooting?
The sound is a bit weird too but that's known i think.

If your "scope" has the two half circles and not a crosshair of some kind, then you are just using the visor's binoculars.

try staying scoped in while being shot irl

Being shot causes you to both unscope and stand up from a crouch

It unscopes while I AM shooting, not while getting shot.
I'm pretty sure it's hold by default, not toggle. You didn't specify what you were doing so that might be it. Other than taking any damage there shouldn't be any reason.

So it's a bug?

I tried both toggle and hold. It only happens with autos.

Which rifle? Someone else was having the same problem, but it turns out he was using the binoculars, not the weapon scope xD

You can't stay scoped in with some guns while firing, the Assault Rifle is one of those weapons.

Yup, this and that MC cannot switch to crouching while he is moving. This is extremely annoying. Is it the same with the console release?

Only certain guns have scopes. Otherwise it will use your 'binoculars'.

You can tell when a weapon will stay scoped in while firing because it will keep it's blue crosshair while zoomed in, while a non-scopable weapon will not. Human weapons usually have a very obvious scope on the weapon too (except for the pistol and non-Reach versions of the Rocket Launcher)
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

It is, as others have mentioned only certain weapons can shoot while zoomed in, and you can crouch while moving IF you're at about half speed which translates very poorly to digital keys. This crouch behavior is typically how halo has worked. No idea when or what 343 will do but they are aware and considering potential solutions to it for pc.

Thanks. Funny thing is I prefer a controller, bc I'm mostly a campaign player. Thanks again. :)

Glad I came across this thread, so it is a feature and not a bug.

Yea only certain weapons actually have scopes, usually precision weapons. full autos if you zoom in you're only using your helmets binoculars so when you shoot it will cause you to go back to your normal visor zoom

Yeah, that's been my biggest complaint to-date; zoom cancellation. If I want to ignore the grunt poking me with his plasma pistol in order to headshot that elite, I should damn well be able to. I'm not concerned about CODesque realism, I'm concerned about a fluid gameplay experience.
