Controller/KBAM Multiplayer Separation
Sorry if this has already been asked, I looked some and didn't find the answer. While I of course acknowledge that KBAM is more accurate than joysticks, Halo has always been a series that felt better with a controller to me. Trying to play SPV3 with a mouse just felt wrong to me. If I play the multiplayer with a controller, will I be matched up with only other controller users or will I just sort of get generally destroyed by KBAM users?

As far as we know, there's no separate matchmaking based on control schemes.

I am going to guess because I have not read much on it but I think you will get destroyed by KBAM users.

I played in the flights, you play with both keyboard and controller users.

I wouldn't even bother with the competitive matchmaking. I was one of those hardasses who used Gamespy tunnels to LAN play Halo 1 over the internet before Halo 2 and Xbox Live release in 2002.

Looking back, it was all a waste of life and the vitriol was just as bad then as it is now. PvP is for teens and man babies.

These games have epic campaigns that are more than worth the asking price for updated graphics.

Uh the graphics aren't really being updated that much you know, right?

I mean, isnt the game crossplay with Xbox users? They could maybe put PC controller users in there, as I'm sure they'd have a hard time against KB & M players

Did you try the Halo CE mouse tool for SPV3?

not only is KB/M more accurate, response time is also vastly superior. in my opinion, it's more natural aiming with a mouse. i play various PC games with a controller, but i'd be caught dead playing a fps game with one. i think you would get used to it and probably actually enjoy it better. i'd imagine the amount of PC players playing a fps game with a controller be pretty low that you'd probably not find many other players to play with if they some how bothered going through the trouble matching up controller players with other controller players.

Was hoping to get into the Multiplayer with a controller on PC, so i guess.. we will get destroyed by KB and Mouse users?

it will throw controller users in the same match with KBM users. With how strong aim assist has always been for controller i don't think controllers will have an issue at all.

Preferences. I don't have table since my PC in living room hooked up to TV so I it's either controller or I'll go play something else.

For competitive multiplayer the obvious solution would be cross-platform multiplayer based on input device. Allow people use KB+M on xbox and match people based on input method no matter which platform they use. But I think it'd be way too much effort.

Considering there's crossplay I think it's the opposite. I think if they separated audience based on input you'd see kb&m lobbies full for launch, but after a couple months in I think it would hard to find anything other than a single lobby. Most of the casual audience would play controller to get in against the other casual audience and to avoid getting regularly destroyed. A lot of kb&m audience likely couldn't stand playing solely against other kb&m players all the time without the casuals to farm and even some of them would end converting to controller or outright quitting. Sorta like how Fortnite content creators started getting butthurt as hell soon as the game started getting full of pubstompers only and they had to actually try for their kills.
