DFHack not working

Hello all,

Last night DFHack was running fine, and I had an update so I ran update and log off. I just tried playing the game and the DFhack window is not appearing. Any help would be appreciated.

When the game updates, dfhack also needs to update, which can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days for a normal update and weeks if not months for major updates.
In this case it's the "hours to days", check steam's download manager if dfhack is in the queue and double-check that both the game and dfhack are in the same beta status (no beta for both or beta for both).

Sorry if I was unclear but the update was for my computer not DF or Steam.

The last part of what I wrote still applies (about the beta if you use it to access adventure mode).

You should also verify the game's files (and dfhack's) through the settings of the game in your steam library as it fixes weird issues quite often as well.

Other than that though, not sure what a windows (or whatever other OS) update would have to do with the game and dfhack no longer running properly.
There should be a file called "stderr.log" in your install folder that would have the errors for dfhack so that file could have more details.

Fel, thanks for the reply I will take a look.

Ok I did manage to fix the problem. For some reason the overlay was turned off (by me?) and I was able to fix it buy running DF Hack and in the upper left of the starting screen I clicked the / key and thru the options was about to turn the GUI back on, or have it set to default. Once again thanks Fel for the quick responses.
