Unretiring a fort turns it to the capital

Whenever I do this, it always turns my outpost into the capital. Any known fixes? Only thing keeping me from playing is this.

Burn it to the ground before you retire :)

or just reclaim the fortress you want as your capital and then retire it again.
Would be a circus trying to rearange all the cabinets and chests though.

This is a bit weird. It almost feels like your capital has fallen and one o the starting dwarves is the new monarch.
