Can’t make new world

When ever I first load into a new world I just made, the loading bar stops and the game tells me

“Not found:
Data/vanilla_creatures_graphics/graphics/images/dwarf_special.png”

Quick check of my DF folder revealed that the path to the graphics folder is actually data/vanilla/vanilla_creatures_graphics/graphics/images
There is no file in there called dwarf_special.png

Generated a new world and used the Play Now option to start a fort. Everything went without issues.

Are you or were you running any mods?

yeah, would you need the list of mods? i don't think i have any that changes the look of the dwarves besides maybe the forthammer fantasy, dark ages v, and mcnuggy's mythical beasts

My guess is that you are trying to generate a modded world and one of the mods is out of date. Try removing them one by one and generating a map.

It sounds like a mod replaced something that the game wants? Or maybe it was corrupted in an update? If you verify your files, your game should regenerate any missing files, but I'm not sure how that effects mods, never modded this game before.

Yeah, turns out dark ages wasn’t working for whatever reason. I’ve took it out and now it works good 👍
