It was even a pain to make it center on a specific tile for the shortcut because of it (less of an issue since the steam release since we could also move it smoothly with the mouse and less emphasis on the keyboard cursor).
Replaying recordings were a lot more reliable that way and the quickfort stuff I made were specifically tailored to use multiples of 10 in directions from the center of the staircase.
It's all old stuff from before the steam version though.
So this is a bit weird, how the designation tool, is linked to the scroll of the game itself. Is this an oversight? You used to be able to designate one tile at a time for mining using the arrow-keys, hit right click then move the game world as standard using WASD.
Mining designation box moved 1 tile, +10 with shift+arrowkey. Game moved a set amount, yes, using arrow keys in classic, WASD in the steam release.
So now, using my preferred method for mining designations, I have to have a one tile scroll of the game world? Or constantly use shift+WASD? No, after writing this, I reversed the keybinding for wasd shift+WASD.
The added granularity is nice I suppose hah.
Edit: So long story short, for clarity, I reverted it back to 1 for H/V scroll, 10 for fast; and reversed the keybindings so that WASD is fast scroll and Shift+WASD is slow scroll of the game world itself, at 1 granular tile. This way I can still use the arrow keys to designate mining, building at 1 tile standard +10 shift, in v51.11 as per classic rules.
