Dwarf Fortress

Dwarf Fortress

Just got my copy of the Dwarf Fortress guidebook by Kari Fry & Ryan Novak
Shipped well packaged and it's gonna be a fun read. Got a loose understanding of certain systems so I hope hospitals and military get a good wrap up here. I wonder if adventuring made it in. We'll see!

Check it out on fangamer.

Looks really well formatted. I'm impressed with my leaf through.|

Seems focused only on fortress mode, but that's fine imo. Small book good for a coffee table.

So far I'm really liking the guide. I didn't know the map generation break down. Was quickly explained what the different notches do. Animal Savagery is also well explained for biomes haven't gotten further then that tbh but I leafed through to read the labor break downs and they looked like good explanations with some flow charts for some of the finer things.

I kinda want it just for my bookshelf because it looks nice lmao.

Putting DF info into a hard copy book is a little tricky because of how much the game updates and changes over time, but I still love the thought of it, and kudos to the people who made it :praisesun:

To be fair, some of the topics are talked about very broadly. So I think their strategy isn't to get too into the weeds. They seem to really try to clue you in on concepts, and try to let you noodle into them.
