I have a huge stockpile of goblin skeletons and body parts sitting outside my base...
how can I get rid of all these items? there is a river and waterfall nearby...
can I destroy them somehow?
thanks in advance

yes, you can make a dump zone and set them to dump.
Definitely TEST this on an item and monitor the dwarfs before you dump a whole area.
I set a dump zone NEXT TO the river and caught the babies red-handed dumping INTO the river instead. Now I have old armor rusting at the bottom of a lake... Be careful not to mark Residents' corpses for dumping, which prevents them from having a burial.

no magma on my map
I'm not sure atom smasher works? I can't make a stockpile under a raised bridge.

It's not a stockpile, but a dump zone

If your dump zone is next to a drop, they'll throw stuff down the hole instead of dropping it on the floor

Unless you've turned off the magma sea in world creation there's always magma somewhere. And as Trashman said, make it a dump zone, not a stockpile. You want that anyway so they stack things on one spot.

ok.
I made a dump zone but nobody ever puts anything in there for some reason.

Do you have another active dump zone? Where are things you mark to dump going?

I don't think I have another dump zone, things just aren't getting moved for some reason. Anyway I'll have to work it out, no worries.

Just to be clear - are you marking things for dump specifically? It's not automatic by default
