mostly Urist McExtrovert wont be truly pissed for missing family - even the single ones who're asexual will mostly just get drunk or yell at the mayor. It's the ones who're filled with rage you gotta watch out for - because keeping them from losing it is a micromanaging nightmare. In those cases? expel them to other holdings. If they're really valuable skilled dwarves? build a guildhall and let them train up replacements (or pull in workers from holdings that fit the bill)
If we put "no family" dwarves into a burrow with just one dormitory...
