Dragonfire-proof stone?
Is there any stone that can withstand dragonfire?

I'm hoping bauxite can, since it's magma-proof, but I can't find anything on the wiki except an article imported from 2014 about slade being dragonfire-proof because it has no melting point in the files, I assume that either already has been updated or could change in the future.

Dragonfire burns at up to 50000 urist. For comparison, Magma is only 10000 urist. The ONLY materials in the game that will not eventually melt when exposed to Dragonfire are Adamantine, Slade, and Divine Metal.

So if anything becomes ignited by Dragonfire, it's gone. You are not getting it back unless you drop water on it immediately. There are even reports that Dragonfire can now deconstruct bridges while they are lowered/extended (raised/retracted bridges still count as walls so should be fine),

A couple of notes though - Dragonfire, for unknown reasons, flows around shields without burning or coming into contact with them, so military dwarves armed with shields will reliably block dragonfire without any damage to the shield. Just mind any BRUSH fires caused. If they step in those their goose is cooked.

Also note, Fire Imp Leather and Bone, obtained by butchering Fire Imps, is supposedly Dragonfire Proof. Their heat resistance is less than 50000 urist, but it has some magical tag that just ensures it will not vaporize from dragonfire. The same is true of Dragon Bones (but NOT Dragon Leather). In theory you could make a full set of Dragonfire proof armor from Fire Imp Bones and Leather, but I have doubts it would work - Dragonfire enveloping a dwarf probably hits every possible gap/spot in armor, and it would be nearly useless for anything else.

You shouldn't have an issue...
though... admittedly I haven't seen a dragon in this version...
Just don't fight it in the middle of a forest XD
maybe pave the area around your fortress so the smoke cant invade through the fortifications.
hmmmm... where does one fight a dragon... I want to try things out on them now.

I had a dragon come and turn half my road into liquid stone lol. I don't think anything can withstand dragon fire but easily can catch one in a cage trap
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

It does indeed destroy bridges and roads, can confirm. The attack can be blocked with shield (as it was before), but dwarf needs a lot of skill in shields to do it reliably enough.

@Topic: depends for what you want to use your stones for. If for contruction, you are fine even with wood, since dragon vapourised my dwarf that was running against the stone wall. For anything else tough luck.

Can confirm, my bridge was destroyed by a dragon

I had no idea they were this dangerous....
I recall farming them once....
I recall losing a lot of dwarfs in the process but that is normal....

I think only hidden fun stuff stands up to it now that we can't build from ash or dragon soap.
