Modifying creature properties for games in progress
Hello there.

As you probably know, you can't add mods to a game withou having to generate a new world and start over.
For anyone who messed up like me and forgot to add mod to make some animals trainable for war, here is what you have to do to fix it so you don't have do generate a new fortress.

Go to Steam\steamapps\common\Dwarf Fortress\data\vanilla\vanilla_creatures\objects, find appropriate text file, and add [TRAINABLE] tag to the creature you want to train.

Now, you can enjoy your army of War Hydras or whatever you managed to capture.

Thanks a lot. Can you change other stuff like this, for example removing the ability to fly from birds or creatures ? Will it affect those already on the map, only the new ones or would it work only for a new world ?

Removing [FLIER] tag from the creature will do the trick. It should affect your world and all creatures, even these on your map, but I haven't tested this.
