Dwarf Fortress

Which kinds of furniture do dwarves get happy thoughts from owning in their bedroom?
As in which furniture triggers thoughts about 'their owned chest/cabinet/whatever', not just making the room more valuable.

This does not necessarily mean high quality furniture such as a ☼bed☼, but ☼masterwork☼ furniture inherently means higher worth. IE; if your bed and ☼bed☼ have the same monetary value, they'll give the same amount of happiness.

Masterwork is what you want for maximum mood benefit. I generally have a furniture industry of some type going immediately after booze and farms. I like glass, but only with magma. Decorate and embed for max benefit. Bone is plentiful and you can level up your bonecrafter for later when you have an ample supply of bone for bone bolts, which have really amazing prices. Masterwork engraving will also give happy thoughts if it's in a room.

So I looked through my top 10 happiest and I didn't see the "admired an engraving" thought or memory. Maybe this was removed or maybe I just don't know what I'm talking about. I would bet money I have seen that on many occasions, but that could have been in a different release.

Dwarves have to stand on a furniture item to admire it, apparently. Probably the same with engravings.

I put things they like between the door and their bed (floor grates, animal traps). You can probably put several objects like that in the hallways as well. Would look weird, though.
