Mouse clicks not being recognized sometimes...
I have noticed that there are times when clicking on a button in the UI doesn't get recognized by the game. I've tested out the issue and found no apparent cause except that if I play the game in Fullscreen mode, the issue occurs less frequently, but if I play the game in Windowed mode, the issue seems to occur more often. I can only speculate that there may be a scaling issue, but it is only a guess.

Has anyone else run into this problem? If so, did you find a solution that eliminates the problem?

I paused the game and verified that it still has problems registering mouse clicks.

There's no real way to eliminate the issue. The input pooling rate is somehow tied to the FPS. The lower your FPS, the more likely it is to miss the input.

Try to play with a more zoomed in perspective. It will help the performance a lot, and you can always zoom out when you need to see more.

There's a click-activate delay that seems to be widely present, there. IOW - It takes xx microseconds for any click, regardless of anything else going on, to be registered, in heavy or light lag.

So, in that case, one would seem to have to very purposefully "click and hold" a bit longer than one would have to do if the focus window one was using was eagerly waiting to detect your clicks... :) That experience gets multiplied in heavy FPS lag, IMO.

But,, I haven't had any noticeable terrible "unimprovements" when pausing - The behavior is certainly much better than "live" in heavy lag. The clicking I experience is the expected, more or less.. sometimes less, the same "click and hold briefly" mouse-click experience the game generally has already.

Yes I normally say 'pause it'

However on my most recent, flowing water, 11,000 prepared meals food fort, my FPS is definitely preventing clicks even while paused, haha.

I decided to do some testing. Some with forts with 500+ populations, some with forts with populations as low as 50. I tested out the apparent lag by also adjusting the report rate on my Logitech USB mouse and also tested things out with an old but still functional PS2 mouse. Regardless of being paused or unpaused, there is some issue with mouse-click events being detected. I can only speculate, but I suspect that the event handler in the game needs some tweaking. Even if I hold the mouse button down, I've noticed that there are still times when mouse-click events are not handled--even if the mouse button is held down for 2 seconds.

Same problem for a while now, actually thought my mouse was playing up, so I bought a new one, didn't help.

I think that lowering visual FPS (so using ALT+/-) or having it drop through the process of playing affects click registration. I play on low game FPS and it doesn't seem to affect it (if anything it improves it since it doesn't fight the visual FPS).

Also it still happens sometimes even on low pop forts when you're at max visual FPS.
