Default labor list
Hi, so can i somehow change defauld labor list? i like start new game, but tired of making specilised jobs for all important skills like doctering\ crafting\smithing...
Same with manager order list, its always same for food, drinks, bins and barrels... so its would be nice not waste time on this every time i want start new game...

1. You shouldn't mess around with exclusive labour jobs too much. The way the game works is that dwarves learn by doing and navigate to jobs based on skill and preference already.
Unless a task is at high priority and your legendary carpenter is busy, he's going to go do it as soon as he can. The only thing you should specialize is a miner, due to speed.
I've dealt with numerous users on the Discord who messed up incredibly hard with their labour designations and pretty much ruined their fortress because nobody did any jobs at an adequate pace (and they screamed it's bugged the entire time, despite it being a user mistake).

2. You shouldn't do a specialized job for doctoring either, just assign the doctor and diagnosticians to a hospital - they'll heal dwarves on their own. It's very hands-off.

3. Work orders are a staple part of gameplay and setting them up for food/drink takes 10 seconds. Do you want to automate mining too? Or constructing? That's literally what this game is about.

I don't get your response. Of course I want to make sure that not every random dwarf wastes my valuable ressources on low quality producs while my legendary craftsman is at the bar.
The game even gives me the tools for that.
What it does not give me is a convenient way to quickly load my preferred settings that I would use as a starting point.

at this case, just build another workshop for your legendary dwarf, assign him there, you can even link custom stockpile for it with high grade materials, also you can turn off general orders for it, so for example legendary armorsmith will do only armor that you directly give to workshop without other jobs

at the end of the day, there are a lot of casual work, but you always want to legendary dwarfs do their own projects

You realize you can assign a workshop to be used by your master craftsman exclusively, right?

That is interesting!
I just checked and I can even make work orders specifically for that workshop. Looks fine and I will go that route for the next fortress.

How to stop other dwarves from taking from this linked custom stockpile?

link it to workshop. so materials and items will go only to your linked workshop, unfortunately finished goods cant be safe from greedy dwarfs
