You can also use burrows to make sure that your specialised dwarves seek work where you want them to, but burrows are unlikely to solve issues related to pathing.
If that fails, set wheelbarrows to 0 in the stockpile you want things hauled to, if it's heavier objects.
Retiring -> unretiring could also be helpful, just to clean up the trash in your save's memory.
Wheelbarrows to 0 - Checked
Stockpile Delete - Checked
Labour fiddling - Checked so many times I can't count :D
Retiring fortress? Will try that! thank you.
Retiring and Unretiring seems really invasive based on the wiki. Don't know if I want to redo all the stockpiles etc. will maybe reserve this as a last resort
Oh yeah, it's the nuclear option - should've mentioned that.
Really not sure what else you could do. What are you even trying to haul?
If it's stuff outdoors like bodies/refuse, make sure to check standing orders.
Yeah, retiring is the nuclear option, definitely save before if you do that
Ideally I just want to clear the task list completely, let the game generate tasks from scratch etc.
Feels like they've all gone into a entertainment and idling stupor.
Quadruple checked i made sure all my zones are marked properly, even created specific hauling jobs such as ones who would only grab bodies and still very little gets done, especially regarding bodies of animals/monsters.
I had a work order for 10 leather gloves. But I didn't have any leather because I had decontructed the tanner workshop and forgot to build a new one. Old versions the jobs got cancelled, but it seems like this version they were trying and failing infinitely to make the leather gloves.
I think what happens when the fort gets larger is it gets quite complicated with all the stockpiles and workshops and work orders and do on, so somewhere there's a thing that's not working.
In general it looks like you have a lot of stuff doing on, so you can try to shut stuff down gradually and deconstruct workshops and move them untill you get the cork off the bottle and hits the snag.
Another possibility is that your dwarves are just lazy bastards!
