Dwarves making unneeded large armor?

For some reason my dwarves have started making all their armor size large, even when its set to "fit dwarves". any idea what could be causing that?

I ran in to the same problem.

Edit:
In case somebody else two years later is trying to figure it out:
I had a legendary yet still disgustingly tall man-thing armour smith who was creating large armour even though my order was specifically for dwarves.
