Digging designation canceled

Hi all. I met with such a problem (a very annoying problem, and it is strange that the developer did not allow the player to cancel the "Dig designation is canceled").

I would like to completely dig a light aquifer, but even for auto mining, this process turns into some kind of torture and unnecessary manual work (since auto mining is canceled and each layer of the wall needs to be dug manually).

In fact: Tell me how to remove the "Digging designation is canceled"?

Same problem, nobody knows how to fix? There ought to be a setting you can disable to bypass this safety feature.

Dfhack had that capability, once it's updated it'll probably bring it back

Unfortunately, there is no such function in the Steam version at the moment :(

This is by design. It is to prevent you from accidentally digging into a river or magma pipe. It is a bit of a chore to manually re-designate stuff for mining in sequence, but the good news is that once a tile is uncovered, your dwarves have no issue digging it out. I just babysit my miners for a while.

Also note that if you dig at the level immediately UNDER an aquifier, you will still find wet walls, and if you dig into them, water will appear from the ceiling.
Can be used to make a reservoir for various purposes.

This is stupid, because this auto cancel cannot be canceled!
