trying to make a well

so i need rope and other things im struggling to find how i make a rope

new to DF never played original or this before

In clotherer workshop you can make a rope out of silk or cloth.
In metalforge you can make a chain (same thing as rope) out of most metals.

but on standard embark you have ropes (at least I had).
Now Op, honnestly since it will be one question after an other, best way to learn DF currently (new player too btw) is YouTube tutorials

You also need a bucket.
