how to build a bridge over rivers?
my map is sliced in 2 bu=y a river.. i thought *stream* were walkable but they are not

Well you could try construction > bridge
You can also just floor it; floors can extend over open space. But if you use a bridge, you can hook it to levers and raise it; like drawbridges!

Brook are the walkable rivers.

Just build it, I dunno?

Use the fact that the game has multiple z-levels. You can build a few walls for support on one side, then make stairs and build a floor about the river.

Bridges are in the build menu, under Constructions. They can be raised to form a wall in any of the four cardinal directions (very useful for defense), or they can retract instead.
