Large gems

I feel like i'm missing something, that or the wiki's 5-10% chance per cut gem is wrong. But i'm on year 7 of my current fort and have cut within estimations a good 500-1000 gems by now of varying types and rarities and my resident legendary gem cutter still to this day has yet to make a large gem even once.

Is there some extra thing i'm missing cause i feel like making large gems would be much better then the much less cool normal cut gems i've been doing.

i'm 99% sure gemcutting getting crafts got removed in this version - i haven't seen it happen once and i've cut tons. that said, i cut some glass last game, and got plenty of crafts and large gems. i'm guessing it was turned off for gems, but is on for glass.
