Tip to avoid crashes when using M1 mac + wineskin to play
I followed this tutorial on youtube to get the game running on my M1 mac using Wineskin. Worked a treat, except that it crashed every autosave when loading DF through Steam.

I changed the wineskin wrapper to load the game directly, rather through Steam, which seems to have helped.

To do this, go to your Steam Wineskin app, Right Click -> Open Package Contents, Double click Wineskin, then in the dialog click Advanced, and change the top "windows app" field to ""C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dwarf Fortress\Dwarf Fortress.exe"

Hope that helps someone!

Yes, this seems to work fine! But have you found solution for slow response for mouse clicks? Are you on Ventura or Monterey?

Monterey, and yes the slow responses to clicks is a bit annoying!
