Creating a dwarf scholar.

I'm trying to have a dwarf scholar from skill allotment tab when you plan carefully but I can't find the right combination of skills, the closet thing I get is doctor or something else. Anyone know the combination of skills?

So I'm rather sure scholar is a ZONE appointed title. So the best you could do is a "Peasant" with max writing and some reading.

Critical thinker is the main scholar skill, I dont know if you can take it as a skill on embark though.

Scholar isn't a skill, it's a job. A scholar uses their other skills to research and write books. For example, a scholar with skills in diagnosis and surgery might write books on those topics.

This wiki page shows all the topics, and which skills contribute to each. In addition to their knowledge skills, a scholar uses the writing skill and wordsmith skill, so starting with a couple of points in these is good.

Maybe you could have a medical researcher and give them some points in diagnosis and surgery? Then they can double as a doctor, between writing medical books

Ah yes, I was thinking scribe. You can get critical thinking on embark. It will still be a "peasant".

Scholar write on what they know. A diagnostician will write about medical stuff. A mechanist about mechanic, and so on. Not every skill is related to a scholarly pursuit (carpenter don't write books about carpentry for example).
Some scholar have unique skills that are not used elsewhere (astronomer, mathematician....).
