Dwarf Fortress

Dwarf Fortress

Yak hair and Waterbuffalo hair
So apparently the stockpiles and thus the dwarves don't consider yak and/or waterbuffalo hair thread as items. I checked under yarn threads and cloth, no yak or waterbuffalo. I also checked the other thread and cloth options but still no yak or waterbuffalo. It caused one of my strange mood dwarves in my early barony to go insane because he desperately needed thread for his creation and there was of both yak and waterbuffalo thread in the dozens in my farmers workshop. I was wondering why my dwarves weren't collecting it and taking it to storage until I checked out the storage itself and found out.

Yet my dwarves will happily use it to suture wounds. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

"Hair is a byproduct of butchering some animals. It can be spun into thread at a farmer's workshop. Hair thread cannot be used to weave cloth, but it can be dyed and used to suture wounds in a hospital or bind books in a craftsdwarf's workshop."
