Keyboard Cursor
I've enabled the keyboard cursor in the settings, however I can't seem to see it anywhere? If I use the "move keyboard cursor" binds, it doesn't seem to be anywhere on the screen. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm a VIM user so I was looking forward to not needing to use the mouse. Thank you.

You only see the keyboard cursor when you enter a mode where you can use it. Like digging (with 'm'). Keyboard cursor is helpful when you want to record macros (actually it's necessary for recording useful macros). But in the current version you can't go full keyboard, currently it's focussed on mouse control. Because ppl wanted it so.

weird, mouse control is fine but IDK why they would completely take out keyboard only control at the same time. They can definitely coexist. I guess I'll just use the mouse for now, and hope that they eventually add keyboard-only support. Thanks.

I have an issue where anytime i place an object like a bed, the cursor resets back to center of screen thus making macros only usable for digging (where this issue doesn't occur). Anyone also has this? Do you have any fixes or workarounds for this?

Think that is for everyone, basically macros are just for digging right now. At least that is by far their best use. People are also using a macro to get "close" to a 1-step tick in time, seeing as that also is currently not in game.

you damn vim users have to say you are a vim users wherever you go 😂
Just kidding, I am not a vim user but was also interested on doing this, and building a set of blueprints for our things and rooms etc.
I guess we must wait, although I read this article in the dwarf fortress wiki and if I understand properly they are talking as if what we need was already working, what do you think?

Yeah, macros were working great - in the classic version. This wiki page claims it's for v50.04, but that's completely wrong. Most stuff you could do with macros earlier is currently not possible because of the "reset cursor to center" bug, and because hotkeys got removed.
