Hit "u" to open the citizen menu.
Then go to Labor > Standing Orders > Refuse And Dumping.
It is the 2nd from the top item. Click it to toggle it onto "Workers Gather Outdoor Refuse"
That should let them grab the dead bodies. You'll also want to make sure none of it is forbidden (at least, until they dump it)
That should solve the problem.
No. Thank's for the response though. You'll see I included a link to the screenshots.

Maybe this will help you. This is my setup and they bring corpses IMMEDIATELY. i had to forbid corpses during sieges or my civs would run to pick them up
I have the same settings... I eventually got one method to work which was to make a huge new stockpile underground and set it to refuse... also got more immigrants in which freed up some of the workers. I think picking up bodies is very low on the priority list.
I still can't get them to take them to a dumping zone.
I never have more than one job assigned to a single dwarf, there's plenty of dwarves to distribute the labor. I have 2 dwarves dedicated to just refuse and nothing else. Should I dedicate a couple of dwarves to just hauling?
It's been a couple months. Arsdruk Adesurar's skeleton is still sitting on the main stairwell at the exact center of my base, right next to the temples, guildhalls and library. Although thankfully now it has stopped rotting and releasing miasma and is just a skeleton.
I suppose I can just leave it there. Along with the three other goblin bat monster corpses which are up at the surface level. Two are immediately next to the top entrance of my stairwell, and the other one is on top of my butcher's workshop.
So all my dwarfs are seeing all these skeletons multiple times a day, every day. Forever. And there is NOTHING I can do about it.
This, on top of the fact that about half of my many, many dogs are seriously injured and I can't treat them. And they're walking around in pain all the time.
Either one would be demoralizing. Both together are making me want to retire this fort. This is my best fort so far and I was really attached to it.
I can prepare carefully next time and just not ever have any dogs. Hell, I can just not ever have any *livestock* until there's a way to give them medical treatment when they get hurt.
EDIT: Okay I finally got something to work. My problem was that my garbage dump zone was *outside*. Once I put a garbage dump zone INDOORS, next to the new corpse stockpile I'd made, suddenly all the dwarfs on my hauling detail started bringing rotten food and discarded clothing to it. And eventually, they even got around to the horrible skeletons scattered along the main stairwell!
