finding unusual volcanic wall

on my current fort I have dug very deep- into the 3rd cavern layer and found a large magma pool.
(it's also a volcano fort)
I've been digging around and keep running into warm stone etc.
what's the best way to find the unusual volcanic wall? Usually you just stumble upon it when hitting cavern layer 3.

isn't warm stone 2 layers above/next magma? when i see warm stone it means theres either magma 2 or 4 tiles away from it, could be just 1 tile of magma somewhere thats spreading the heat around making it hard to find.

OP is asking about locating the Hidden Fun Stuff.

Personally, I've never had trouble simply stumbling into it, so got nothing to add here.

I usually find them in the magma sea. Try digging into the sea from above in different places to map it (consider filling in the holes afterwards so no crabs wander into your base ^^' ) and you should bump into at least one unusual gemstone wall on a standard-size embark.

I found it eventually, just had to dig down thru warm stone at random points.
