Outpost liaison haggard/fighting
Hi all
The outpost liaison visiting my fort is a former military dwarf from a previous fort and is currently haggard and starting fights when he visits.

This is the second time "a diplomat could not complete a meeting and has left unhappy"

I'm a bit worried relations with my civ will sour if this continues.
He could have an accident while visiting but 1. he's a Legendary Fighter who killed a tundra titan and 2. if he had an accident it might make the civ hate me and stop sending caravans/diplomats.

Any ideas?

to make things worse-

after said haggard outpost liaison left, a mountain titan attacked and killed the entire caravan and 20 of my dwarves in a bloody melee.

I don't know how I'm going to explain this to the mountainhomes. They'll never trade with me again.

And somehow I have 3 of my military dwarves trapped in cages I can't even explain how that happened. I don't even know how to release them.

ok I worked out you can "place" the cage and then release them by unmarking "occupant".. one problem fixed.

Afraid I don't have great advice for the liaison situation but I can at least explain the cages.
Your dwarves are temporarily vulnerable to cage traps when unconscious, so getting stunned or injured fighting atop your traps gets them caught in there. It's actually a fairly safe place for them since enemies can't target 'em in there so you can pull 'em out and get 'em to the hospital afterwards.

Anything that falls unconscious or gets webbed on a trap will get caged.

Your mountainhome may sulk for a while, or they may not. Just don't let it happen too many times. You can also contact other peaceful civs to get more caravans.
