Skills what to pick or not to pick

This game has allot of skills and i am unsure about what to start with other then what is pretty clear like miner, woodcutter etc

Like what skills is good to have as the outpost leader? Merchant and other such roles?
Many skills to me has vague names so i am unsure what they do like the skills, persuader, negotiator, judge of intent, conversationalist, flatterer, consoler, pacifier, student, concentration, wordsmith, writer, reader, speaker, keyboardist, percussionist, critical thinker, striker, misc object user and engraver.

While i can guess what some of them mean i am unsure on what they do in the game and why or why not i should pick them.

What skills would be recommended for this character? I would appreciate any help.

Negotiation, Record Keeper, are the top two for your outpost leader. Use him/her for when caravans arrive and make an office with a chair for him/her and you're set. I suggest 4 points in both skills. Cheers and Good luck striking the Earth!

I see thanks, not sure what record keeper does but i will try it next time.

record keeper gives you an accurate count of your food, drinks, basically your stock. Useful. Good luck again!
