Legends coming? Seems integral to Adventure mode.

Is export to Legends coming soon?

It would seem to be an integral part to the adventure mode ; i.e. having the legends to scroll through, the lore etc, plan your next route, next attack, where to visit, what lore to dwell on and pursue etc.

Not sure what you mean by that exactly, legends mode has been there since the steam launch, did you mean something different perhaps?

Maybe i'm mistaken with the new UI, or just a lapse in memory.

I remember after creating a world we could somehow ciew the world dat file and see all the lore / legends / items / places of interest etc.

Maybe i forgot, how can / do we access this feature again. Legends export for Legends viewer.

There is a game "mode" called legend mode where such informations are, that is where you have to go to export the informations (preferably with DFHack to export more stuff).
The legend mode itself is better than before so you can also view things there directly to an extent but what you remember is probably exporting the data before using a third party program to load it (usually "legend viewer").

It appears when you are chosing what mode to play, when a world has a save without a mode currently being played (like after retiring a fort/adventurer or right after creating a world).
There are three options, fort, adventure and legends.

"not seeing it", where are you looking for it?

It is one of the three modes when you pick "start a new game" then select the world and save file, after making a new world or retiring your fort/adventurer.

I found it, took me a moment had to delete old pre ver saves. Generated a new world,

Was able to find the legends viewer, and exported the XML file.

How do we view the XML file now?

You found the legend mode, where you could read the informations directly as well.
To make something intelligible from the exported data you will need a third party tool like legend viewer and such:

Legend viewer was not updated but it should still work, legend browser has a new version for version 50+.

Ok got Legends Browser allows me to open .XML Legends file but still no WORLD MAP.

It would be very useful.

The world map is not among the data exported in the current version of the game for whatever reason, I don't think there is anything we can do about it sadly.
I have not followed what DFHack did around the data export since I had no interest in that so maybe there could be something there, it might worth looking around the various commands and functions it has.

Supposedly the latest DFHack build will let you view legends even if you have an active fort save, but I haven't tried it yet. I'm waiting to mess with 3rd party viewers until we get the map export back, hopefully it's just an oversight that it got left out.

That's not what it does, it just auto retires the fort and auto starts legends mode, that is why it nearly forces you to make a save before proceeding.
It is just a shortcut to the whole process.
