can you play as a demon in adventure mode?

Yes you can play a wild beast , it is in the menu, didn't paid attention if there was a demon though.

i know you can play as animal people but i haven't seen the demon yet :(

Yes, I had a faceless night creature with wings in my party and I took down a roc several stories in the air with my iron spear and it came crashing to the surface where my pack of animals finished it off. No mod necessary

it seems to be based on your world, some worlds have them and some don't it seems, i think those demon types have to live in settlements in order for you to play them. one of my worlds had no playable demons and one had 4 different ones.

I don't think you can play as demons, but you can unlock some creatures, like boogiemen via certain conditions. The only one i remember for sure though, is angels. You can play as an angel if you have raided the angel's vault that houses the slate with a name of a demon.

Those are necromancer experements, even if they have word "Demon" in the name.

Oh, thanks. My world is 500 years old, so the necromancers have taken over.
