Dwarf Fortress

Suffocating in adventure mode
It usually happens after I eat some food and have one serving of dwarven rum. Is my character allergic to his food or something? It's like I'm trying to take care of a man sized baby in bronze armor that can't keep his food down. I wanna have fun and play with the combat some, but I feel like everything in this game mode just is not as easy to understand like fortress mode.

Never drink alcohol as any other race but a dwarf, to be safe. How it works is, every other race but a dwarf are extremely susceptible to alcohol, and will suffocate to death at very low consumption rates. Basically for the time being, consider alcohol literal poison. As for the actual issue, I submitted a bug report on the Mantis bug tracker. I don't believe everyone having low tolerances should be a thing, and see it as an oversight.

Thank you for the answers! Was hoping that wouldn't be the case cause all the water around me is frozen, but hopefully I can get far south enough to find drinking water.
