Can you use kruggsmash's tileset on steam?
Before premium, I used it and I kind of miss it. Is it still possible to use it in the new version?

Version 50 (steam and free) changed a lot of things for tilesets, making all of them incompatible.
I would check on the official forums (currently down and have been for a few days) but a few months ago there was little to no progress towards making tilesets work for version 50 sadly.

A pre-v50 tileset had 256 tiles. A v50 tileset has several thousand. It's not a trivial translation.
