Is There Game Syncing?
I made a lot of adjustments to a custom world in vanilla, spawned a lot of worlds using those settings until I found just the right spot to fit my play style. I bounce around between two Linux systems most of the time.

However, I noticed that they did not seem to sync, despite cloud saving being a feature per Steam. I ready from older (1 year+) posts from here and other websites that cloud saves/syncing is not a thing yet, but again, those were kind of old posts.

I want to confirm if this is a still a thing and if there is a solution for it outside of using physical media to save game files and load them between the systems. I feel for my situation it is not practical.

My back up plan is to see about remoting into one of the PCs from the other to play, but a few things at this time are preventing this.

I thought about using AnyDesk, but that app seems like it is really fickle and I think it is not really designed to play games between computers. I could be wrong about the ladder, but most of the time it just does not work in general for me.

The other is the Steam built in mode to play games from the same account on other systems. I can do this fine on games like Rim World, but last time I tried it with Dwarf Fortress it did not work. This was a day ago as of this post, but it is entirely possible I was doing something wrong.

I am open to suggestions. Keep in mind that I use Linux and not Windows. Arch on one system and Mint Cinnamon on the other to be exact. The one with Mint has my saves and configurations.

This does not have Steam Cloud. Don’t see in the store description stating that it does either.

I have been using OneDrive to move my world between my desktop and laptop.
The fact that uncompressed saves can be a gig in size or more is likely a complicating factor for steam cloud. IIRC it doesn't give nearly that much space.

Even compressed saves are large. My newest fort, a medium world gen with 250 years and literally zero ticks of gameplay(initial save) is ~150 MB.

They may need to work it so only a single save is maintained in the cloud if they implement support for it.

So it looks DF Hack allows remote play, which works for me. I could have sworn I tried it before just prior to my message, but maybe not?
