No job issues when jobs are available
I;m having a mid game issue where my guys wont work. They had been working fine eventually they stop working on tasks and stand around.

What are some ways to fix this?

I think the "general strike" bug was fixed but just in case, appoint specific planters and only let them do the planting.
I know it sounds unrelated but it was a bug caused by the planting task that resulted in pretty much every dwarf standing there with "no job".

Something similar can also happen if your embark is too big (not sure about the specific size that made it happen but it was way bigger than the default), something to do with pathing getting broken.

Check if you had very large farms, very large plant gathering zones, or unreachable flying/swimming animals that your dwarves are trying to fight.

I get this all the time. Troubleshooting and context makes me think it's a pathfinding bug that cascades. The workaround is to assign them all to a restricted burrow for, like, a day and then cancel the burrow. This seems to "reset" the dwarves' logic and they start doing the things they were supposed to do.

I've seen this affect mining, building, harvesting, hauling, installing furniture, and cleaning. It ESPECIALLY seems to both be triggered by and affect building. And it happens a lot and is really affecting the game. Having to burrow my entire population every other week is a pretty serious handicap. I actually reinstalled Rimworld today because of it...

Check where your dwarves are.

Last time I had this problem they were worshiping or socializing in meeting areas. Closed those temples and houses of ill repute down and they were back to work.

You should post more details on how you play, because this is not normal and doesn't happen "all the time". It's probably one of the things that new players do that nobody else would ever attempt.

I had something similar happen just last night. Plenty of free dwarfs just standing around socialising or praying, and none of my work orders being carried out. Alcohol had almost run out completely!!
Turns out adding my Manager to a military squad and having him constantly train prevented him from approving the work orders. Once I set him to No Training, the work flow started up again.
