A high level planter can easily get between 3 and 5 plants per seed planted, which leads to a rapid increase in seeds.
Rock nuts are not any different from other plants on that front.
The farm plots built in the "soil" layers right under the surface have a divider on the amount you get so it's better to spread mud somewhere lower and build your farm plots there.
You can fertilize your fields, and get a high skill planter to get more rock nuts.
What the game means by "Process plant (to bag)" is that quarry bush are lettuce and they're being... Uh... I don't have the term in english for "Picking every leaf and pile them in a bag". Well while they're at it, they also get DEEZ NUTS out of the underground lettuce.
Lss : You need one step more to get nuts out of quarry bush that isn't "Eating the plant".
In Steam version, crops produce both quarry bush leaves and bushes, so you don't have to process everything to get nuts and leaves.
