And of course Bay12 for the classic version (which is just this version minus the graphics update and music)
Thanks for reply. I understand what you saying tbh.
Edit: I now found out what itch.io is. My bad! I'll share the links I found to this topic:

also just realised this was a necroed thread. Good job @vpelss
Only because it's up on ichi.io which is also DRM free IIRC
because you do, if you want it DRM free get the free version and make your own tileset, or pay someone to make one for you
Anyways, maybe you @devs consider releasing the game on GOG one day so I can support and have it on my GOG lib too.
Cheers!
You do realize pirating isn't stopped by DRM, like, at all, right?
Cracking is alive and well.
Not to mention, if the game is going to be sold on Itch.io then it's already going to have a DRM-free version made, and so putting the same version on GOG isn't going to cause any further harm, even if we toy with the idea that your line of reasoning actually makes any sense.
Also all available tilesets (that I know of) are free so why would anyone pay to have them made? There are plenty of good tilesets out there already. Not to mention, selling tilesets may or may not breach the intellectual property rights for commercial purposes.
You seem like you have little to no idea about what's actually true in regards to pirating and GOG vs Itch vs Steam, so I'm gonna call it a day here.
haaaaa, you funny guy. just because cracking is easy doesnt mean there arent website that are more convenient, and a lot of people are afraid to torrent so they only use direct download sites, if someone wants drm free and does wanna pay for it they will use itch.io, if its already on itch.io and someone still wants it on GOG instead then 9/10 times its so they can get it from their pirate website.
and last i checked there were no tilesets for the post steam version of the game, and i never said buy a tileset, i said pay someone to make one, you know, like a commision?
trust me, i know more about all this than you ever will, it used to be my job
If you want to let your consumer rights be crushed, I won’t oppose it, nor will I criticize you for it, but I prefer not to spend my money on that.
I'm a coder myself, and I do not make use of illegal software. I don't enjoy it. I respect other coder work. But I don't like companies force to use me dongles or any kind of C/R protection (as SteamDRM or Denuvo) to use their software. I do not purchase in that case. If you
As a experiment: I did a simple google search and I found a bunch of illegal version of this game, and it's updated frecuently. DRM doesn't protect you easily from piracy.
There are games that hasn't DRM here in Steam, but purchasing this is encouraging the industry to continue this anti-consumer model.
That's why I stopped purchasing here no matter what.
About itch.io, it's ok, its a nice platform but it has too many strange and bad games and I honestly prefer GOG for that.
I will purchase this game as soon as it reach GOG.
Also, a bit sad how many of you don't know how to use Google.
What used to be your job, exactly? Working on Dwarf Fortress? Cracking video games? Torrenting? Or is it that you are merely yet another arrogant artist who thinks their ♥♥♥♥ doesn't stink?
Either way, direct downloads are not necessarily safer than torrents, I have no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clue where you got that from. I've been torrenting more and more lately and it isn't hurting my PC at all because I understand how to torrent safely.
Some people prefer GOG as a platform over Steam, and trying to invalidate this by arguing "trust me bro, I paint", or whatever the hell your argument is, is actually trying to invalidate an opinion as opposed to a falsifiable fact, in this case by painting the person of a differing opinion as some sort of low-life scum that steals passion projects from developers who are in need of financial support for medical reasons.
