it says i cant because there is no soil also im talking about dense floor fungus that spawns naturally in the cavern biome
caverns have a floor and there things are growing on it.
you can build floor on top of that, if you want to build a more home-like place.
But you can also do it with any other stone floor inside your fortress.
sorry if title was misleading i want to farm in the caverns on the fungi floor but there are plants that cant be harvested or chopped im asking if there is a way to remove them so i can make farms that aren't all jagged and disconnected
hmm as i know, you can build a dirt-road above it or floor tile and then remove ...
also, Cavern floor and Stone-mud-floor are of the same nuturing-quality. so its possible to water some normal stone floor and build farms from them.
its also possible to do that with a bucket-brigade (wiki reffering) ... so in this case you just nee a source of water to build your famre everywhere :)
