Dwarf Fortress

Dwarf Fortress

Help with dwarves "randomly" dying.
Had this issue latelly after I instaled the soundsense mod and whenever "Dollomite Lullaby" or "Elves of the Coast" comes up I can't do anything stop and get into a melancholic jam while thinking about the songs. Only for when the song ends to see that "Urist Mc MilitiaCaptain has been found dead and Urist Mc Farmer has been missing for a week". What can I do to stop this, and no, openning my eyes and stop vibing is not an option.

Pause the game while your eyes are closed.

"But, they weren't dying randomly," said the narrator, in Morgan Freeman's voice.

If it seems like you've reached the point where your dwarfs have stopped randomly dying on you, then probably you have the game paused. You never really know what's going to kill a dwarf. Maybe they're stuck in a tree, or can't swim and fell down the well, or were attacked by a secret vampire, or were kidnapped by a goblin, or turned into a werebadger, or they went insane because you don't have the shells they needed for their mood, or a kobold stole their favorite sword, or some noble expected them to make two gloves and they were beat to pulp for not doing that, or they're just really sad because their pet goose was killed by an elf two years ago and they can't get that out of their head so they've given up on life. You just never know what's going to set one of them off.

It’s most likely a disease, syndrome, or toxin from a FB you may have killed. Godforbid it gets in the water supply
