I gave mine the "sorry we can't stop production over your quaint request" bit for several years now. In the meantime they sold me leopards, jaguars, and grizzly bears that will eat them when they come.

That's usually the first warning, next spring (or longer) you'll receive a diplomat with the elf caravan who demands you cut down no more than 25 trees or something. Accepting generally increases the limit, refusing will result in the caravan leaving - I think.

Possible they'll attack the next season, maybe they won't. I wouldn't sweat it, as their armor and weapons are wooden

I don't know that it does or doesn't cause them to leave, but mine did not leave. About the only thing they are good for is berries and occasionally animals. I usually save a few cut gems to trade them.

Elves are good for clothes in the early days, before you get your clothing industry up and running.

If it's the caravan not leaving then deconstruct the depot and they'll leave. Will have to rebuild it for the next caravan, obvs. Eventually you'll be fighting elves, unless you're really careful (but why tho?) and you can still raid their towns for fur babies.

hm raiding for livestock is another option i started trade to get my hands on exotic animals because they are in savage jungle.

Was it alright if the voice in my head sounded like Steve Irwin as I read this?

Nobody dares to talk about all the fortresses destroyed by dropbear infestation...

Croiky!
Talking to elves? That's a hammerin'.
Letting elves into the fort? That's a hammerin'.
Trading with elves?! You'd better believe that's a hammerin'.

Looking even slightly elvish?

Definitely a hammering.

I had an elf poet with a blue green face come sauntering in one day. She didn't make it past the entrance. I put the full force of my military on hitman mode. Oh no you don't bloodsucker.

Sounds like you only reacted in the appropriate manner after suspecting them of being a vampire.

Report to your local hammerer for re-education, post-haste.
