Dwarves need to take care of their stress?
A lot of people want to take care of Dwarves' stress.
You have to make a mist room.
There has been a lot of talk that

But I killed Mega Beast, made steel squad 3 squad, and set fire to the kingdom of Elves.
I had a great time raping and looting goblin.

I Set up a trap at the depot, and kindly present death to the elves when caravan returns.

When the vampire dwarves were found, they locked them in an enclosed space and kept the lever running.

And I kept three pairs of male and female dogs in captivity and slaughtered and used them for food every time I gave birth.

Of course, doing this has increased my happiness in reality and reduced my stress.

but, These weak and pathetic Dwarves sometimes die at the highest level of stress, and the higher the value of the good stuff in the fortress, the more immigrant Dwarves come and the population always stays at the highest level anyway.

And even if "Legendary" Dwarves die anyway, if you put even a little talented Dwarves in one of the workshops and repeat the work, they will be made again quickly.

And managing stress doesn't mean alcoholics don't fight.

And managing stress doesn't mean alcoholics don't fight.

I put it in twice because it was important.

Why do I have to manage stress in this game? After all, Dwarves can replace him when he dies.

Isn't it more beneficial to consume dwarves quickly and greatly increase the value of Fortress than to manage stress?

I think increasing the size of the Fortress is more helpful than building useless additional facilities, so could you explain the advantages of managing stress?

I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to happiness meters and I can get attached to my society of little guys. So I build my fort in a way where there's a waterfall, nice bedrooms, nice everything.

For me, the fancy wealth of the fortress is for their own use. When they're happy walking around with their jewelry and nice clothes, I'm happy too.

My next major project is an artificial underground tree farm so that my dwarves will never need to venture into the FB infested caverns. They keep showing up. One burns everything around him, another is a dying giant kangaroo, and the worst of all is venom spitting flying earthworm still in top condition. Nope. Absolutely not letting any of that ruin my civilization.

I don't give my dwarves a tavern keeper so they don't get drunk and brawl. I do give them performers (a legendary poet showed up) so they're not bored either. I try to make at least a shrine for every religion and engrave their little spot with block tiles. I once opened my library for outsiders but unfortunate they ran off with my books so it's closed until I build a section for public.

This seems to be the difference between Asians and Westerners.

I built a fortress based on my experiences in Asian countries.

Competitiveism, poverty in the elderly, high depression index, death from overwork etc...

Personally, I enjoy giving equipment to Dwarves, who have a high stress index, and then killing them against mega-beasts or giant monsters.

However, my country does not currently have a neonatal population, but Dwarp Fortress differs in that it is overflowing with newborns.

So. heh.
The Steam version, the current version of the game, is REALLY friendly. Like. almost new player only friendly. In the OG version you always get depression death spirals where an entire fortress wipes itself out except for the walled up vampire scholars. And all the new migrants that come in, just go morbid because of all the dead bodies, get depressed and the fortress wipe continues. That doesn't happen in the Steam version. So, there is a point where you hit max pop, and the world itself loses/gains overall population. The worst I've gotten in the current version was a bar fight that carried the entire fortress, killed 70 or so dorfs. There is a point where you just sit back and listen for the death bleep bloops, look up at the ceiling, or the fish tank and count the deaths as they stack up. They all mostly died in the hospital. I'm not going to put 70 beds in the hospital.. nobody sets up for that. but there you go.

I'm Asian born in Malaysia.

Just because I live in Asia doesn't mean my colonies need to live like a depressed Asian.

I haven't had a migrant wave in 15 years. Help ain't coming. They're not a limitless resource.
