Please let us filter out worn clothing
In both stock menu and stockpiles please. I just removed a decades worth of worn clothes from a 210 dwarf fortress one piece at a time. I hate my life.

For the love of God, yes.

Amen.
And a leather cloak getting worn down in 2 months while not moving from the tavern floor is also kind off silly.

Also add a configurable variable for wear rate into game options.

I wouldn't mind it so much if Urists could be assed to handle some basic house-keeping, but this is definitely a chore part of the game that I don't enjoy, even with dedicated stockpiles gathering most of the discarded worn items.

We are basically being told to tidy our bedrooms. Please deal with this. Please provide a way to automate it.

Having 200+ dwarves clearing out 400 cabinets full of tattered clothes over 2 years is indeed not fun.

Could really use some love. Even if they just had a labour option to automatically toss X gear into the dump it would be better.

This would cause a major issue since if you have a dedicated tailor for clothing quality mood bonus, he'd quickly go into tantrum over destroyed masterwork items.

Written under the assumption that you employ the usual permanent-disposal method of either magma dumping or DAS.

*taps forehead*
just edit your dwarves raw values to have 0 shame and never clothe them
they're drunk all of the time anyway
I dunno if this actually works

whole hauling is just broken even with dumping.

If you have one guy pumping out masterwork clothes not likely from my playing. Even when he had 150+ destroyed at once it wasn't enough to set him into a bad mood (He was still second highest happiness), because he's made SO many at that point it's nothing.

He will get a bad thought but I haven't seen it be enough to really upset them.

This is easier to see with weaponsmiths making mastercraft bolts, they'll get stuck in enemies but they don't care because it's 20/1000000 bolts they've made.

Item description is bracketed by "x"s, e.g. "x*elf-hair left sock*x"

Not sure how this scales to giant forts but my dwarves are pretty good about going to the clothes bins, grabbing new items and dumping their old junk in the pile. If I have no unworn clothes of a type in the stockpiles then I commission a score of new items and things sort themselves out again. Ideally I'd have 1 pile per clothing type for better sorting. Worn clothes aren't worth much but in large forts you can usually buy a chunk of items from trade carts with them, then you can save your proper trade items for rainy days or peace offerings. If not just find bins of worn clothes and dump stuff in there for your atom smasher.

The most annoying this is that this filter used to work. I saw it given as a tip on youtube. Typing 'xx' used to bring up all the broken items. It doesn't anymore.

we can't filter to x/X items. It would be a great improvement.
I should at least be able to make a stockpile that takes only worn items...

Yep, this should be priority 1A+

Agree, this is big problem with large fortresses. The search functionality in general is really lacking in the UI or doesn't meet modern expectations. E.g. searching in bins for my goblets/mugs for trade.

For worn clothes, it would be good to have the "Quality" drop or something e.g. below Standard quality in the stockpile settings. And that this also affects trade value as it doesn't make sense that worn clothing trades so much.
