Dwarf Fortress

Dwarf Fortress

Multiple Dwarves assigned to One Bedroom
I've got 2 by 3 bedrooms for each of my dwarves, a population of 23 and 23 bedrooms. It should be enough for everyone, but some of my dwarves still complain that they have to sleep on cave floors. I've checked the bedrooms assigned and some of the ones i've built dont have anyone living there, and some of the bedrooms have 2 dwarves assigned to them. If I try to assign one of those dwarves to another bedroom, the other one gets assigned as well, and I can't unassign them. What do?

Do you have a baron or someone that has "official assistants"? They'll move to their boss's office with them, but you have to give the subordinates an office of their own as well.

Nothing ? they are a couple / married or parent / child. They live together, thus even let one more room available.
Now by any chance, are all your bedrooms all (caps for emphasis, not shouting) INDIVIDUAL bedrooms ? which are, fully enclosed walls + doors.
If a bedroom has no door, then all bedrooms will be considered as a single bedroom, no matter how many beds.

Damn sorry for edits, I rarely messed up a quote like that lol

Married people share beds rooms, their kids too.

If they have the Hunting labor enabled, they will not use their bed. It could also be that they were too far from their bed when they got tired.

ah, yeah, they're hunters. I guess that explains things, but they still ♥♥♥♥♥ about sleeping on the cave floors, and refuse to sleep in their assigned room. Is there anything i can do to stop them ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥?

I don't know why so many peeps use hunters btw. Waste of ammo, waste of time from Dorfs.

For meat I rather breed and / or trap animals. Now to each it's own.
But I saw so many of them hunt an animal, wasting like 5/6 arrows, injuring badly the animal, and whoop, they are thirsty, and forget about finishing up the animal.
Personal take though.

when they immigrated, they started as hunters, i never told them to start hunting, it was their choice.

Indeed, go to labour tab and make them do anything else more useful, from mining to military, bards, whatever. but not hunters.
The crossbow and arrows is such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ situation right now, better not waste that on hunting.
Why not even crossbow military as they probably already have some skill for it.

But again, to anyone it's own.

alright, might make them military bowdwarves then
