Dwarf Fortress

Dwarf Fortress

Moving dwarven prisoners from cage to cage, or to another place in general?
My sheriff arrested some... bloodthirsty fella and put him in a cage in my dungeon, but I really want to put him into another room.

I don't see any way to move the dwarf, since he can only be put into a cage if the cage itself is in a dungeon zone, unlike animals which you can assign to cages.

When I remove the dungeon zone, the prisoner automatically gets released.

Is there an easy way or ANY way to move prisoners in cages, or from cage to cage? I've tried making stockpiles that accept caged dwarfs but they don't want to move the cage out of the dungeon zone.

I don't cage dwarves. Freedom or death for my dwarves. Yes, it sounds like a nasty political slogan. :/

Thanks! That's it. I always thought removing the cage would destroy it, but now I can just place it anywhere.
