Report a translation problem
If you are customizing the duties, disable the custom duties, go back to default, ALL ALL to build stone.
You will see an immediate effect, stuff will get done.
When I try to customize duties to much my dwarfs stop doing doing certain jobs.
I do, yes. I made it when I noticed the initial blocks weren't going anywhere.
Oh yes, I embarked with a competent stonecutter (well, my 2nd embark had a stonecutter once I learned about the mason change!)

THAT WAS IT. Thanks a lot! For whatever reason "stone cutting" is smoothing AND blocks. "stone carving" is furniture etc.
...I miss "masonry" being everything. :)
