No Graphics,

I am experiencing a bug where when I am in my Menu/World Generation the entire screen is black besides text,

Also,

I cannot see anything in the game unless I use classic/ASCII mode

Me neither, I no longer see blonde, brunette, redhead... all I see is the code.

It happens with the version on the Bay12 site

That version doesn't come with the graphics overlay

Also since V50.04 it does have modern graphics

The bay 12 version doesn't have graphics, that's the entire purpose of buying the steam version. Ascii is perfectly playable, you just have to get used to it.

Main menu is supposed to show Ascii world gen is supposed to show Ascii

Yet it does not,

I am here to figure out how to fix this issue

Sometimes the map screen shows up way off center (sometimes even off screen), you have to recenter it with the map movement keys.

I just installed the bay12 version of df to see what is going on. You tried to turn graphics on in the version that doesn't have graphics. Go back into ascii mode and it will work, if you want graphics you have to pay $30 and buy the steam version. Both versions have the same content and updates, besides graphics and music.
