Sometimes animals and stuff will push minecarts if they have to walk past each other, if theres a ramp right beside them then they gain momentum and can easily murder a dwarf.
I suggest using soft wood minecarts(might help with impact), designating tracks as No Go pathing zones and making sure you have a high traffic stair case close to it as an alternative, and also put track stops with full friction at bottom and tops of ramps to prevent accidental momentum build up(dwarves will still guide carts through these i believe, if not set up extra stops to guide through these)
Fast minecarts can be a very effective way to deal with larger invasions. But you need a way to turn them off and protect your haulers and cleaners :D
