Dwarf Fortress

Does anyone know why I have a blue goblin in my fortress?
He is a visitor, in the gov of another settlement, chilling in my tavern, he is a "goblin diagnostician bleak slayer"...and he is blue.

No skills of note, some in doctor average military, 1 kill of another goblin, standard clothes, every other goblin I've seen is green and the only unusual thing in his description is "He is basically unbreakable and unbelievably strong". And he feels nothing.

Seems like a chilled dude. But why is he blue?

I saved and sent 20 amateur steel armed dwarves at him, dude decorated the floor of my tavern in their teeth, took an absurd amount of punishment, put 6 in the hospital, killed one, barehanded, then died, TURNED GREEN AND HIS CLOTHES DISAPPEARED...(edit - they didnt disappear he got hit that much his entire clothing got destroyed)

Rather confused...

Thanks for the answer, that makes total sense. Surprised they made the goblin ones blue, that's kinda obvious, more surprised there wasn't a thread on it, there is on everything else.

So...there's only one way this goes. I have a drawbridge. I have a lever. Only way out is over that drawbridge.

Assign dwarf. Wait for him to leave. Pull lever. Leave him to go insane.

et voila. vampire moat.

I believe a "bleak slayer" is a randomly-generated intelligent undead type.

https://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/DF2014:Intelligent_undead

"The phrase "intelligent undead" does not actually appear within the game. Instead, each kind of intelligent undead receives a procedurally-generated name, composed of two parts. The first part alludes to it being undead (e.g. "putrid", "risen", "grave") or its nature as a night creature (e.g. "night", "grim"). The second part is always a noun, and sometimes describes it as being undead (e.g. "zombie", "ghoul") but just as often simply makes it sound threatening (e.g. "one", "slayer", "butcher", "stalker")."

Thanks for replying cos you will help on next fortress, but doesnt seem to fit,

"Each type of intelligent undead is given a set of 1-5 magic powers" - there was no projection i could see in log.

Combat log wasnt at all unusual line per line, coulda been a honey badger fight, it was just the fact the dude got turned into sushi repeatedly then struck back with the limb and devastated through steel each punch.

What I would do is make a lever box for your vampires then put them in it and lock it. They don't need to eat, drink, or sleep and sane or insane it doesn't take much for them to hit your lever.

See what you say is too advanced and some stuff in the steam is weirdly convoluted, (cages for example) but if I can pick your brain one more time is an overhang enough to compensate for unsmoothed walls. i.e. its 3z down into a room with a room one x and y bigger than the drop above.

You just need to set a burrow and assign them to it then make the door not passable.

As for your question I don't really know what you are asking how it is phrased but I am also pretty friday'd up and now have poor reading comprehension. Good luck!

Pulling lever with him there will require timing and effort.

Effort i am happy to make.

Sacrifices may have to be made.

Well, i clearly cannot let the blood sucking parasite leave.

So its either a brawl or a wall timed lever pull.

All the blue creatures I've seen have been undead of some kind. Thought vampires were more of a pale skin color, not sure, but I think goblins live forever unless killed, so age doesn't mean much with them.

Indeed, both elves and goblins are not mortal. So its high age is no indication for vampirism.
Undead creatures are blue.
