Dwarf Fortress

Dwarf Fortress

Huh... so thats a thing? Apprently im not the first one with a claim to this embark
So here i go, embarking, and on this map, there is a group of mixed race, hostile folks, all in dark robes, with tents, and a bunch of loot, aswell as a plains titan, i had no idea that could even happen, luckily they're leaving me alone? im just confused because while the other humanoids are hostile labeled, the plains titan is labled... resident?

That's an interesting one. Seems like you encountered a camp.

One chance out of probably one hundred, and you found a way to pack your things and travel straight to a bandit camp or a titan shrine and its followers. Lu-cky you.

Try to not be too noisy, I honestly don't know how the game will handle this situation and make them behave to you. Poorly, i guess.

the Bandits killed the titan and are pretty chill, they don't seem to want to fight us, i even killed two of them just to see if i could rile them up, and the bandits "felt joy" at they're friends death, they occasional walk over too my town to chat then return too there camp, odd stuff, all i know is i got to make like 40 sets of plains titan bone armor out of the exchange.

I’ve snuck into a camp in adventurer mode before, but never embarked atop one in fortress mode. I hope you’re able to write a fun story about this one.

They will leave you alone as long as you do not stray too close/mind your own business.

On a related note - it is entirely possible to embark on top of Megabeast and Smei-Megabeast lairs, on top of Night Troll lairs, etcetera. GENERALLY SPEAKING, the rule of thumb is that as long as you do not intrude inside their area, they will leave you alone.

The moment any of your dwarves ♥♥♥♥ around though, your entire fortress gets to find out.

For megabeasts lair it is really easy to do so on purpose. You need to do 2 things basically: turn on cave visibility in advanced world generation and then check caves for their residence in legends mode before the embark. Then just embark on top of the cave with chosen beast and enjoy. Just beware, sometimes cave generated with the beast outside of it, not inside. So, you can find your dwarves a hundred tiles away from a dragon. Then some random rabbit will run from the dragon right to your wagon and that is it for that party. I have this happens, but with a hydra. Did not matter in the end that she did not breath fire, seven heads was a plenty for 7 dwarves.
