No Fire Proof Anvil?

I have an Iron Anvil but I can't use it for Metal Smithing?

Some of my metalsmith forges use iron anvils. I think it's just a generic message the OP is seeing, I don't think there are any non-fireproof anvils.

anvil can be iron but for magma forge you need a block that is fireproof too like bauxite ortoclase green glas (collect sand and make it at glas furnace.9

And yet some of us on this thread have encountered the exact same issue that the OP is talking about... sounds like your game is wrong and not ours lol

In all of my games (5 games now) the game would not allow me to build a MetalCrafters with Iron Anvils. And when i used Steel Anvils it allowed the build.

I have never installed any mods to my game. Not even graphical ones... NONE. Maybe you have some mods?

Anyway, OP should try to make an anvil stockpile near where he wants the forge. That should shake it loose.

Oh.. Oh you're right, I just checked my mod list, I have the "Allow iron anvils to have a function" mod on. My bad you guys!

You probably did something wrong, like forbidding the iron anvils.

The fact remains we get the exact same message when trying to build Mertalcrafters with Iron Anvils. My solution after i saw this is to buy Steel Anvils off Traders and order them for the the following year.

Let us know when you work out why some of us (100% un-modded) players get this message and some of u dont.
